Mission & Values
Who We Are
-
Why we keep showing up and doing the things that we do is all towards our vision. Our vision is to support and restore diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and protect and expand inclusive and representative curricula in Texas institutions of higher education.
-
1. Accountability & Ownership
We are accountable to ourselves and to each other for how we show up in our work and our commitments to the communities we serve.
We take responsibility for our outcomes and commitments, acting voluntarily to solve problems others may have missed, and ensure that the work ownership belongs to those doing the work.
2. Anti-Racism
We maintain constant awareness of how we show up with both marginalized identities and privileges in order to transform systems and norms upholding structural racism against Black, Latine, Indigenous, and Asian-American & Pacific Islander communities.
We continuously assess those who hold power and who is the most impact across shifting dynamics, ensuring those voices are both included and lead our decision-making and strategy.
3. Accessibility
We actively seek to remove barriers to ensure that folks can participate fully in our organizing, decision-making, and policy-shaping processes that affect their education and livelihood.
4. Humility
We de-center ourselves in the fight for collective liberation, approaching our work with curiosity and openness, and center those who are the closest to the problems since they are the closest to the solutions.
